CDK Launches Dollars for Doers Program Rewarding Volunteers

To further support employees as they volunteer and impact their communities, CDK Global recently launched its Dollars for Dollars program. This global program strengthens our traditional donation match program with our volunteer program in a way that encourages meaningful contributions to our local communities.

With the introduction of our Dollars for Doers program, our employees make an even bigger impact on their favorite organizations. Employees now earn money to donate to a nonprofit organization of their choice by participating in volunteer activities.

Deryk Funkhouser, managing lead, Network Solutions, Implementation, is one of our many employees who has raised money through the Dollars for Doers program.

“This benefit gives people the opportunity to contribute not just their money but also their talents,” he said. “I really appreciate the ability to stretch my giving even more with the company providing a match opportunity for my volunteer work.”

All CDK employees are encouraged to take one paid working day each calendar year to volunteer in their local community. As employees create possibilities through their volunteer work, with the Dollars for Doers program, they are also eligible to earn $10 (or its equivalent) per volunteer hour towards their giving accounts, which can then be donated to a nonprofit organization. Employee donations are matched by CDK – furthering our employees’ impact.

Cristina Brooks, operations manager, Customer Care, volunteers with the American Red Cross and Called to Care, a nonprofit organization that supports children and families in foster care.

“One of my favorite things about CDK is the emphasis that is put on Corporate Social Responsibility, but instead of simply writing checks to big organizations, the leadership team has created programs for employees to get involved on at an individual level,” commented Cristina. “Volunteering was already a passion of mine, so being part of a company that not only allows the time for me to help with events but also allows me to send a monetary donation to my favorite causes is incredibly rewarding.”

Supporting the local communities in which we live and work is vital to the culture at CDK.
